“…In our previous paper we have shown a strong correlation of the laser vaporization conditions with the structure of anions in the beam source, revealed by ultraviolet photoelectron spectra. 16 The photoelectron bands assigned to the chain conformer appeared only when the high fluence laser was used for vaporization, which gave the magic numbers 5, 8, 11. Thus, we have concluded that high fluence laser vaporization gives both the linear chain and the monocyclic ring as the main isomers of the small carbon cluster anions of nу10, and lower fluence laser gives mainly the monocyclic ring for these cluster sizes.…”
