“…According to Woods and Kilpatrick (2005), this family is composed of six genera and 18 current species, although only the small rodent genera Cavia Pallas, 1766 and Kerodon F. Cuvier, 1825 were observed at Lapa do Santo in the units analysed by Mingatos and Okumura (2016) and in our results. Osteological remains attributed to Caviidae were found in Quaternary deposits, as well as in palaeontological, archaeological and ethnographic sites (Castro and Langer, 2011;Kerber, 2017;Chahud, 2019Chahud, , 2020a and it is not possible to determine a natural or anthropic origin for the materials from Lapa do Santo. Caviomorpha of the family Dasyproctidae are represented by the genus Dasyprocta Illiger, 1811 in Quaternary deposits at Lagoa Santa (Paula Couto, 1979;Chahud, 2020a).…”
