Uncertainties about the new Strong Interest Blanks

Abstract: Many SVIB materials were published in 1969, and the new men's and women's revisions are now largely complete. Because these inventories are such fundamental instruments for vocational counseling, the revisions merit careful examination at this point. “…A comparison study was needed because Zytowski's findings have significant implications for the theoretical exploration of the 482 SVIB and counseling uses for the SVIB, the SVIB has been revised (Form T399), and Zytowski's study had some methodological limitations. Concerning the SVIB revision, Frank and Kirk (1970) in an article reviewing the new SVIB, Form T339, indicated some significant differences in the scoring, scale content, profiles, and psychometric development of the instrument. Because of these extensive changes, the Zytowski findings might not apply to the revised SVIB.…”
