Abstract:A plasma impedance probe (PIP) is a type of in situ, radio frequency (RF) probe that is traditionally used to measure plasma properties (e.g., density) in low-density environments such as the Earth's ionosphere. We believe that PIPs are underrepresented in laboratory settings, in part because PIP operation and analysis have not been optimized for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), reducing the probe's accuracy, upper density limit, and acquisition rate. This work presents our efforts in streamlining and simplifying … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
