Uncertainty Evaluation of Measurement Data Processing Algorithm Based on Its Matrix Form

Abstract: Data processing algorithms are important parts of modern measurement systems. These algorithms are often delivered to the user as complex program and their numerical structure is not known. Therefore also influence of algorithm on processed data accuracy is not known. One of the methods to evaluate uncertainty propagation through algorithm is based on matrix form of algorithm. Coefficient matrix of algorithm represents its numerical operations and it is a basis to algorithm accuracy evaluation. The paper prese… Show more

“…The presented method of calculating the uncertainty of the DWT algorithm output quantities, described for the universal case in [6,7,18], gives results similar to those obtained in the simulation. It allows us to determine the metrological properties of DWT algorithms for any filter bank set and any number of decomposition levels.…”

“…This method assumes that the parameters related to the sample are ideal and any processed errors are reflected in the sample values. The uncertainty in determining the frequency range or the time interval is therefore included in the uncertainty of the value of the output quantity [6,7,18]. It unifies the process of determining the uncertainty of the input quantity in the case of various sources of errors and the analysis of their impact on the uncertainty of the output quantity.…”
