Abstract: The title of Thirlaway and Upton’s book, ‘The Psychology of Lifestyle’ could potentially mislead cardiac nurses into thinking it is too theoretical for them. However, inside the covers they will find an excellent resource. It is not the easiest of reads, with long paragraphs, detailed analysis of research evidence and few diagrams or illustrations to break the prose.
