Abstract:Anal squamous cell carcinomas (ASCC) are strongly associated with prior infection with high-risk human papilloma viruses (HPV).Although relatively sensitive to chemoradiotherapy, local recurrence requires salvage surgery with significant morbidity and is associated with poor outcomes.
