From this evidence it appears likely that all cold phases during the Middle/Late Pleistocene (MIs 2,4,5b,5d,6,8,10), which have been identified in both marine isotope as well as continental pollen records, were characterised by major glaciations of the Alps and the formation of gravel terraces in the foreland.…”
