Unified Composite Distribution With Applications to Double Shadowed $\kappa$-$\mu$ Fading Channels

Abstract: In this paper, a mixture Gamma shadowed (MGS) model is proposed as a unified composite distribution via representing the shadowing impact by an inverse Nakagami-m. The exact expression and the asymptotic behaviour at high average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime of the fundamental statistics of a MGS distribution are derived first. These statistics are then applied to analyze the performance of the wireless communication systems over double shadowed κ-µ fading channels. In particular, the outage probability … Show more

“…Based on the empirical advantages of IG distribution in modelling of the large-scale fading, in this paper, the fluctuating Beckmann shadowed (FBS) fading model is suggested as a generalised composite distribution. Moreover, this model reduces to the double shadowed of Rician [32] and κ-µ Type I [33]- [34] fading scenarios after a proper selection for the values of the fading parameters.…”

“…In [10], the energy detection characteristic analysis for the   shadowed fading channels were proposed. In [11], a mixture Gamma shadowed case was considered by using inverse Nakagami-m. Then, the proposed unified distribution model was applied to double   shadowed fading channels. However, this work did not consider cascaded double   shadowed fading.…”
