Unilateral Negative-Pressure Pulmonary Edema in an Infant During Bronchoscopy

Abstract: ABSTRACT. We report here a case of a 3-week-old infant with a lung disease of unknown origin who underwent diagnostic fiber-optic bronchoscopy. During the procedure, she developed unilateral pulmonary edema. Factors that contributed to this complication are discussed along with means to reduce its occurrence. Pediatrics 2004;113:e501-e503.
