“…In the Bean model δ=h ac /H*, where H* is the smallest field that penetrate the whole sample. The AC susceptibility harmonics, calculated by using any critical state model, are independent of the frequency ν of the applied AC field [10]. Nevertheless, many experimental results show that variations of all the harmonics χ n appear in correspondence of different AC frequencies.…”

“…Nevertheless, non zero even harmonics are predicted, by the Kim critical state model, in which a magnetic field dependent J c is considered [7][8][9]. Shatz et al [10] showed that all the critical state models can be described in terms of a unique parameter δ, which measures the extent of penetration of the AC field into the slab. δ depends on the slope S of the field profile inside the sample (the slope S being a function of the temperature and the field dependent J c ), on the applied magnetic field h ac and on the geometrical dimension of the sample.…”

“…2b the Cole-Cole plots, i.e., a plot of χ" 3 vs. χ' 3 , of the two samples under the same magnetic field and frequency. As the reference, represented by the dashed curve, we have also plotted the Bean's model independent of the frequency, [54,55] corresponding to a homogeneous bulk pinning 'lens' shape [56]. The curves reveal a similar bulk flux-pinning interaction for both NdFeAsO 0.86 F 0.14 and FeSe 0.88 samples although the area of the former is larger.…”

“…Also a field-dependence of J c (B) is not accounted for in the model and it may be found in harmonics higher than the fundamental. However, S. Shatz et al [6] have shown that the Kim-Anderson model with J c = J c (B) also yields a universal behavior in the curves which in consequence does not produce the additional peaks. This fact has the importance conclusion: that the observed peaks must be caused only by thermal effects as the transition occurs.…”
