“…This issue becomes a challenge to universities to provide standard curriculum in order to produce graduates who are multi-skilled and implicates to the curriculum and the factors supporting the career development of students. In order to achieve both benefits to universities and industries, a collaboration between them should be reorganized (26)(27)(28). “…However, our results also indicate a role of universities which is different than that described in the literature. In each case, universities were crucial because they provided skilled human resources and not because they were partners in research and development projects conducted by subsidiaries, which is usually underlined in the literature (e.g., Govind & Küttim, ; Vaaland & Ishengoma, ). Therefore, the results of our study enable a new role of universities involved in successful innovation transfer taking place within MNEs to be identified.…”

“…Furthermore, the involvement of suppliers in an MNE's innovation transfer can result in the MNE's increased productivity and effectiveness (Jean, Chiou, & Sinkovics, 2016), which is caused by co-creation of production capabilities, help in identifying new customers and supporting the MNE with technical assistance, training and information, which can led to the successful creation and adoption of innovation (Winter & Lasch, 2016). Universities, together with other research institutions, are seen as crucial by Vaaland and Ishengoma (2016) in the process of innovation transfer within MNEs. They help to develop new technologies, implement them in the MNE business model, and act as an important partner in conducting R&D activity (Arvanitis & Woerter, 2009).…”

“…According to Bohne, Eicker, & Haseloff (2017), TVET-based curriculum design has to be one that reflects a multidisciplinary approach in connection with the working process. TVET is closely related to the world of work, and this work based approach for TVET as mentioned by previous research constitutes the apprenticeship curriculum (Deissinger & Gonon, 2016;Fjellström & Kristmansson, 2016) as well as the re-skilling and up-skilling of teachers (Vaaland & Ishengoma, 2016). Therefore, it is uncommon to group academic and TVET teachers under the same basket.…”
