Abstract:Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) from a ruptured intracranial aneurysm is a devastating disease that causes death or severe disability in half of patients. Intracranial aneurysms are not present at birth but develop during life. Actively searching and treating intracranial aneurysms before rupture may prevent SAH as a result of these aneurysms.
