Unsymmetrically Substituted Phthalocyanine Carboxylic Acids

Abstract: New unsymmetrically substituted phthalocyanine carboxylic acids were synthesized by mixed cyclotetramerization of substituted phthalonitriles. The UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectra and quantum yields of fluorescence were studied in comparison to symmetrically substituted analogues. The distribution of phthalocyanine carboxylic acids on the surface of titanium dioxide was studied by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.
