Untersuchungen zur Diagnostik der ABO-Erythroblastose mit der Elution nach Lui-Eicher

Abstract

Investigations of 78 cord blood samples from mothers of blood group 0 show that anti AB IgG antibodies can be eluatedfrom newborn erythrocytes according to the Lui-Eicher method despite negative direct antiglobulin tests. The same results were obtained after sensitization of newborn erythrocytes in vitro. Studies with diluted anti AB IgG preparations and A or B adult and newborn erythrocytes show that a positive elution test with a negative direct antiglobulin test cannot be explained by the quantity of antibodies or antigens alone, because the negative antiglobulin test becomes positive after incubation of sensitized cord blood erythrocytes in a hypoosmolar medium.
