Economic openness for growth involves complex factors that need further investigation. Traditionally focused on developed economies, recent research is shifting towards emerging regions like Africa. Our study addresses this gap by exploring the intersection of open innovation, technology, and economic integration in Africa. The analysis reveals a significant increase in publications on these topics since 2014, with a notable rise from 2018, indicating growing academic interest. Key works include a 2020 study on SME contributions to regional growth (33 citations), a 2021 exploration of fintech success (31 citations), and a 2019 analysis of knowledge in free trade zones (28 citations). Through bibliometric analysis, we identify key contributors, influential countries, and collaborative networks, offering insights and a framework for future research to support sustainable development across Africa, emphasizing regional origin and technological capacity in economic strategies.
