Abstract:MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small non-coding RNAs that play regulatory roles in protein synthesis by repressing translation or cleaving RNA transcripts. Their aberrant expression has been shown to be involved in human diseases, including cancer. The functional importance of miRNAs is evidenced by many biological processes in which they are implicated, including developmental timing, cell proliferation, apoptosis, metabolism, cell differentiation and morphogenesis. However, little is known about the roles… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
