“…With the call to expand graduate anatomy training (Wilson et al, 2021), the likely shrinking number of anatomy doctoral degree granting programs is the opposite of what is needed to remedy the anatomy educator shortage. While monitoring the status of US programs is important, previous research initiated a call to action to the current shortage of qualified anatomy educators (Garnett et al, 2023). In fact, it may be time to consider a credentialing mechanism for graduate anatomy programs, potentially at the societal level.…”
