Abstract: IntroductionHuman prion disease (PrD), a group of fatal and transmissible neurodegenerative diseases, consists of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), kuru, fatal familial insomnia (FFI), Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker disease (GSS), and variably protease-sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr).
