“…These results were identical to the PAEs profile of fresh tea leaves, which had higher content in mature leaves. , However, in contrast, this study has more sampling sites and time; therefore, the results are more representative. Compared with other plants such as celery leaf, pepper, tomato, bitter gourd, onion, Chinese cabbage, wheat grains, potato, and maize, ,,,,, the content of PAEs in fresh tea leaves was at a moderate level, especially the content of PAEs in one bud and two leaves used for processing tea products, which was significantly lower.…”

“…To date, the mechanisms of uptake, translocation, and metabolism of PAEs in tea are still unclear. Some studies have reported that the uptake and accumulation of organic pollutants (such as PAEs and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)) in vegetables are mainly achieved by two pathways, namely, the root uptake and leaf surface absorption. , In general, the content of PAEs in the urban atmosphere and soil is relatively high owing to human social and economic activities including urbanization and industrialization. , The studies on soil PAEs in Zhejiang province conducted by Lv et al found that the soil of Zhejiang province could be divided into four zones based on the environmental risk limits and PAEs content in soil. In this study, two sampling sites (SS10 and SS11) in other regions of Zhejiang province overlapped with the first-level pollution zone (DEHP > 1000 μg/kg and DBP > 700 μg/kg) identified previously in soil, while the rest of the sampling sites in other regions overlapped with the second-level pollution region (DEHP > 1000 μg/kg and DBP < 700 μg/kg) identified by Lv et al By contrast, the sampling sites from Hangzhou were located in the wooded mountains at a low pollution level, which may be the reason why the content of PAEs in fresh tea leaves from Hangzhou was slightly lower than that from other regions of Zhejiang province.…”

“…Meryanto (in Zeng et al, 2022) plant growth media is a factor that must be considered, because it affects the growth and development of plants to obtain optimal results. Buntoro et al (in Zargar Shooshtari et al, 2020) stated that on wide leaves, plants will absorb more sunlight.…”

“…cerastii IEGM 1278, a plant-associated strain, carried out complete biodegradation of 100 μg/L and 100 mg/L of ibuprofen for 30 and 144 h in the presence of 0.1% n -hexadecane, respectively ( Ivshina et al, 2021b ). It is worth noting, there is ever mounting number of the basic studies of stress-tolerant plant-associated microorganisms and plant-microbe interaction as well as applied aspects, particularly rhizoremediation, as an effective strategy for xenobiotic biodegradation ( Vergani et al, 2019 ; González-Benítez et al, 2021 ; Kuhl et al, 2021 ; Singha and Pandey, 2021 ; Zeng et al, 2022 ).
