Urban‐Rural Differences in Aerobic Physical Activity, Muscle Strengthening Exercise, and Screen‐Time Sedentary Behavior

Abstract: Taken together with previous literature, these results suggest that rural residents may engage in comparable levels of total PA, but less leisure-time PA, than their urban counterparts.

Likewise in an analysis of the 2011-2014 waves of the HINTS survey (n = 14,188), Robertson and colleagues, [13] also found no rural-urban differences in total physical activity, though differences in leisure-time resistance training activity (a question not included in our survey) were observed.
