Urinary N-acetyl- beta-D-glucosaminidase activities in patients with renal disease.

Abstract: control mechanism which may automatically prevent excessive FSH stimulation of the ovaries. It should also be possible to produce synthetic LH-RH fairly cheaply. Nevertheless, many more clinical studies must be performed before we can define the proper place for LH-RH in the treatment of anovulatory infertility. Our studies in patients with anorexia nervosa prove that LH-RH can be used alone or in combination with HCG to induce follicular growth and maturation, ovulation, and pregnancy in such amenorrhoeic wom… Show more

“…Enzymuria depends on the place and intensity of damage. Increased enzyme activity is a reflection of disease activity and residual functional capacity of kidney (2). Perturbation in renal tubules initially affects lysosomal membrane system in cells, resulting in increased loose of enzyme in the urine in early stadium.…”

“…The urinary excretion of various constitutive proteins from kidney cells as markers of kidney injury has been explored in the past using multiple enzymes such as N-acetyl-b-D-glucosaminidase (NAG), 2 c glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT) 3 and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). 4 Several of these have been shown to be elevated after SWL in animal models, but have been found to be inconsistent and less reliable in human studies.…”

“…Urinary creatinine concentration (mmol/K) was determined using the Bonsens and Taussky method [12] based on the Jaffe reaction [13] . The determination of creatinine was carried out in order to correct for variations caused by change in urine flow [14] . AAP activity (u/mol Cr) was carried out according to the method of Mattenheimer et al [15] .…”
