“…And even Arrighi, who stresses them more than others still remains wedded to the thesis of precipitate U.S. hegemonic decline. (Gowan 2004: 481) These measures are arguably being used in the current U.S.-China trade war to hamper China's pursuit of high-grossing core industries such as 5G technology (Kapustina et al 2020) and economic competition with the United States resulting from the BRI (Chance and Mafinezam 2016). “…The relevance of AI in the politicaleconomic-social landscape is well-evidenced in many crises. An example is the recent dispute between the United States of America and China, which resulted in the United States Department of Defence's restrictions on the use of Huawei technologies (Ernst, 2020;Kaplan and Haenlein, 2020;Kapustina et al, 2020) and which has suffered a series of deadlocks. Therefore, those in the race for AI development are likely to dominate the coming decades, especially in terms of economic and geopolitical strength, which will potentially exacerbate tensions between countries (Feijóo et al, 2020).…”

“…However, these intellectuals also theorize that the United States will eventually fall and lose its status as the supreme ruler of the world order. (Kapustina, L., Lipková, Ľ., Silin, Y., & Drevalev, A., 2020) The initial of George W. Bush's first term suggested that US policy toward China was based on the need for military deterrence. Strengthening the US position on Taiwan, Bush called China a "strategic competitor" and claimed that the United States would do everything possible to help defend Taiwan.…”
