Usage Of Zeolite And Chitosan Composites As Slow Release Fertilizer

Abstract: The research with the title usage of zeolite and chitosan composites as slow release fertilizer had been done. In this research, fertilizer was made by mixing zeolite with NaNO 3 as a source of macro nutrients (nitrogen) and chitosan as a crosslinks which will later be used to provide slow release function in fertilizers. The slow release fertilizer was made by impregnating zeolite on NaNO 3 and chitosan solution. Initial characterization of slow release fertilizer functional groups was identified using FTIR i… Show more

“…Ranking as the second most bioavailable natural fiber following cellulose, CS possesses non-toxic and biodegradable characteristics, ensuring its safe utilization (Sharif et al 2018). Some research results related to CS-SRF in plants indicate slow-release properties, the ability to absorb water, maintain soil moisture, and increase crop production (Handayani 2014;Essawy et al 2016;Nayan et al 2018;Maharani et al 2018;Istiani et al 2020;Pimsen et al 2021;Eddarai et al 2022). CS-SRF experiments on sengon and rice planted with different planting patterns must be carried out to identify the highest plant growth.…”
