“…AR is defined as "a process in which participants examine their own educational practice systematically and carefully using the techniques of research" and primarily meant for educational improvement (Ferrance, 2000;Nugent, Malik, & Hollingsworth, 2012). The "action" in the research can involve assessment of a process being used or affirmation of a change over time, both of which necessitate clear data collection processes (Moch, Vandenbark, Pehler, & Stombaugh, 2016). AR is conducted by the researchers using the following steps involving a cyclical nature of inquiry: plan, act, observe, and reflect (Kemmis et al, 2013).…”

“…It is limited, however, this method in Nursing teaching. 1 R-A is characterized as a method that allows the reflection and, consequently, a more critical knowledge of the participants about the studied phenomena. [1][2] It is revealed -for Nursing care, whose premise is an interactive and intersubjective action, that this type of research constitutes a relevant methodological tool for fostering an approach that aims at "the dialectical integration between the subject and his existence , between facts and values, between theory and action and, mainly, between researcher and researcher ".…”

“…However, at present, numerous researchers fight this penumbra ascribed for so long to action research. Currently, action research has several designations, with distinct proposals for ways of materialisation (Almeida, 2001;Balakrishnan & Claiborne, 2017;Corpa, Hito, & Garcia, 2010;Kindon & Elwood, 2009;Moch, Vandenbark, Pehler, & Stombaugh, 2016;Schneider & Daddow, 2017), as well as variants, for example, at the level of stakeholders' participation. Yet, in general, it may be considered that action research entails articulating research with intervention, especially in several cycles or stages of enhancement or improvement (Costa & Machado, 1987).…”
