“…36 The usefulness of a cellular test likewise BAT has been demonstrated for immune vaccination besides allergy diagnosis. [37][38][39] Notwithstanding, basophil response to allergens used in immunotherapy does not seem to fulfil all the expectations raised from a commonly accepted model of the basophil behavior toward an IgE-mediated mechanism. 31,40 For example, recent evidence showed that treatment with omalizumab results in a markedly increased sensitivity of basophils to an IgE-mediated stimulation in terms of the number of IgE molecules required to produce a given response.…”

“…Testing Basophil reactivity with (whole blood) or without (purified basophil) plasma has strong impact on the BAT results" is not mentioned in any reference ever reported by Lambert in his Letter, so suggesting it was a simple speculation raised by the Author. Yet, I already addressed this point and other technical issues about BAT in some contribution of mine [2][3][4][5] and therefore I did not further thoroughly addressed this topic in my report. 1 The same for Lambert's comment on CD63, CD203c and IgE, for which I discussed the issue elsewhere 3,6 : he did not report any reference sustaining his criticism.…”
