World Mental Health Day, observed on the 10 October, is an occasion for the mental health professionals to dedicate themselves to bringing succour to the numerous persons suffering from mental health disorders. The World Mental Health Federation has declared this year’s theme as ‘Mental Health in an Unequal world.’ The call is timely considering the distress wrought on different communities due to the pandemic and the social and economic distress which has affected all sections of the population, albeit with different intensities causing differing impacts. The article explores the theme in the historical context and outlines the various concerns which mental health professionals should concern themselves with. It is a common knowledge that they are in short supply all over the world. Homoeopaths, due to their approach to health, disease and individuals are uniquely equipped to fill this gap and thus make a difference. There are very few examples, at the institutional level, where community-based activities addressing the mental health issues have been successfully undertaken and have made an impact. The article draws on the almost two-decade-long experience of the Department of Homoeopathic Psychiatry, Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Homoeopathic Institute in this area, thereby illustrating the possibility of incorporating similar practices in the District Mental Health Programme. Clinical activity needs to be reported in peer-reviewed journals and initiating research in priority areas would help homoeopathy to be recognised as a discipline which can be a part of Integrated Mental Health Care for mental disorders.

Specific Learning Disorder is an umbrella term used for learning disorders in the fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder of biological origin which impedes the ability to learn or use specific academic skills: reading, writing and mathematics. The objective of the present study was to assess the representation of Specific Learning Disorder in Kent's Repertory, Synthesis and Murphy's Repertory. The study design was descriptive. The features of this disorder obtained from extensive search of literature were subjected to representations in the three repertories. This study has brought evidence regarding the representation of this disorder in all the repertories, in varying capacities. The Mind chapter provided majority of rubrics. An in depth study incorporating repertories and various Materia Medica is essential to bring out the Homoeopathic perspectives about this disorder.

Learning disability is a disorder of the basic physiological processes involved in using or understanding language written or spoken which manifest itself in imperfect ability to listen, speak, read, write, spell or do mathematical calculations. In this study, homeopathic medicine was prescribed to the 30 children having learning disability of age group 6 to 15. Synthesis repertory was used for repertorisation of cases and to find out constitutional medicine. Single dose of medicine was prescribed to every child at the interval of 10 to 15 days in required potency. Pre-assessment of each child was done with "Is It Dyslexia" free online evaluation by Davis Dyslexia Association. Visual Analogue Scale was used for before and after treatment analysis. Study showed significant result with mild to moderate improvement in 30 patients. Dyslexia and Dysgraphia come under category of specific developmental disorder. Dyslexia is characterized by failure to develop adequate reading skills and delay in learning to read which become apparent between the ages of 6 to 9 years. The clinical feature includes omission, distortions or substitutions of words, long hesitations, reversal of words or simply slow reading, writing difficulties are often coexisted with dyslexia. Clinical features include difficulties with spelling, syntax grammar and composition.
