“…It was observed that LS/Zn 2+ complexes behave efficiently providing Zn to maize and wheat plants when applied to calcareous soils or to the nutrient solution (Rico et al 1996;Martín-Ortiz et al 2009). Comparison of LS and HEDTA (N-(hydroxyethyl)-ethylenediaminetriacetic acid) as Fe suppliers when applied to butterhead lettuce grown in hydroponics revealed that LS were almost as efficient as HEDTA in keeping Fe in solution and providing Fe for plant uptake (Demeyer et al 2001). …”
