Abstract:Identification of clinically significant anaerobes is gaining in importance. This is due to both better understanding of clinically relevant organisms and the unpredictability of inter‐ and intraspecies variation in antimicrobial susceptibility testing along with increasing antimicrobial resistance. The use of matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization–time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF MS) for the identification of clinically relevant bacteria is now part of the routine workflow in many laboratories… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
