Abstract:In order to improve the water-solubility of chitosan, N-(2-hydroxyl) propyl-3-trimethyl ammonium chitosan chloride (quaternary chitosan) was synthesized by the heterogeneous reaction between glycidyl-trimethyl-ammonium chloride and chitosan.
