Use of Response Surface Methodology for the Rapid Optimization of Microbiological Media

Abstract: The application of response surface methodology to microbiological medium‐screening has been investigated. Using an example of gibberellic acid production on a basal medium of whey filtrate, the methodology has been shown to be useful for the rapid optimization of supplementary nutrient concentrations in the medium.
