Abstract:Aim: Neonates hospitalized in neonatal intensive care units (NICU)s often require a venous access. Umbilical venous catheter (UVC) is the commonly used one. UVCs are known to cause life-threatening complications such as catheter-associated bloodstream infections (CABSI).
