Rabea's (2018) study of the television coverage of the 2011 uprising argued that Bahrain Sports Channel was used to name and shame the athletes and sports figures who participated in the uprising. He argued that the sports channel was employed to play the role of public prosecution by interrogating anti-regime athletes live on television (they were later arrested).…”
