The Ministry of Education (MoE) of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has recently embarked on another teacher training program to equip secondary school teachers with the necessary competencies for ICT infusion in their physical classrooms. This study aims to investigate the impact and usefulness of that program, and challenges that the teachers have been facing in its implementation. Thirteen interviews (eight one-on-one and five focused group) were conducted from forty trained teachers. The findings showed that almost all the teachers were quite content and even ecstatic about the workshops and were willing to use the acquired knowledge and skills. Those who were able to use the knowledge and skills attained in the workshops reported improved students’ interest, classroom interaction, and academic performance. However, many expressed disappointments due to the multiple obstacles at their schools which prevented them from fully and effectively using the knowledge and skills from the workshops. They specifically reported insufficient number of computers, poor and inapt ICT environment and most importantly, unreliable internet access and connectivity. This study identifies three important elements in the successful implementation of any ICT in education program: willingness (mainly of administrators, teachers and students), training (especially for the teachers) and infrastructure (physical, hardware and software). Although, there was an overwhelming willingness from the teachers (even excitement) and adequate training, issues with infrastructure appear to be preventing the policy from yielding desired results. In order to ensure that the current policy brings the desired results, the MoE must not only provide effective professional development training for teachers, but also furnish schools with the necessary ICT resources and infrastructure. This research attempts to reveal pre-service teachers' perceptions towards instructional technologies (ITs) through colors and emojis along with the meanings attributed to colors and emojis. Synectics model was used to enable students to comment on the concept they are familiar with from a new perspective. The research utilized a phenomenological design. The participants consisted of the 3rd and 4th grade 161 pre-service teachers learning at a state university between September and December in 2019. Criterion sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was utilized for incorporating only participants who had taken instructional technologies course and who majored in different departments. This research deployed an "instructional technology synectic and emojis form" developed by the researchers. Both content and numerical analysis were used during data analysis. Research findings suggested that the pre-service teachers mostly associated the concept of ITs with white, blue and green colors. The colors that were least preferred were all colors, brown and turquoise. The findings also revealed that most of the participants attributed positive meanings to the colors regarding instructional technologies. Besides, the majority of the pre-service teachers felt "happy" towards instructional technologies and explained the reasons as facilitating learning, feeling special, permanent learning.

In this research, After I have realized some technological applications in the course of general physics laboratory II of the science teacher program, this research aims to examine the effects of the students' attitudes towards technology and the information of the communication technology (ICT) with the mixed method. For this application, after the introduction of Arduino was done, it was used as a measuring instrument in the laboratory; it also used the Fritzing program for circuit diagrams and the e-support system for sending poster studies. The research was carried out with the 50 first-year students of the department of science education at Kocaeli University. In this study, the attitude scales toward technology and ICT were used to collect the quantitative data, and a semi-structured interview form was used to collect the qualitative data. For the quantitative analyses in the study, "t-Test for Dependent Groups" and "A Two-Way ANOVA was used for Complex Measurements", for the qualitative analyses, "Descriptive Analysis" was used. The two analyses were combined according to the mixed method research model and interpreted. The results of the research showed that technological applications in the physics of the laboratory such as using arduino, fritzing program, and poster studies have a significant effect on the attitudes of students in the study group toward technology and ICT, and it was supported by the qualitative research.
