Но добычные работы сопровождаются, как правило, удалением значительных объемов пустых пород. Перемещение этих объемов к месту складирования также обеспечивается соответствующим вскрытием. Поэтому в деятельности карьера вскрытие рабочих горизонтов играет важную роль и оказывает существенное влияние на техникоэкономические показатели предприятия. Выбор рациональных вариантов вскрытия осуществляется рассмотрением тех или иных сторон данной проблемы: объемов проходческих работ и видов вскрывающих выработок (траншеи, стволы, штольни), глубины заложения внешних траншей, количества горных выработок, места расположения внешних и внутренних траншей, формы трассы внутренних траншей, стационарности вскрывающих выработок, перехода от вскрытия траншеями к подземным выработкам, применения специального оборудования или создания сооружений для перемещения грузов. Эти и другие вопросы вскрытия рабочих горизонтов при открытой разработке месторождений находятся в центре внимания многих исследователей. В данной статье выполнено обобщение существующих классификаций способов вскрытия и доказано, что необходимо не расширять классификацию способов, а разделять их на способы и схемы. Приведены примеры схем вскрытия реальных карьерных полей.

Since the end of the last century, a significant number of hydraulic excavators have arrived on Russian quarries. Most of these excavators are equipped with backhoe operating equipment. The widespread use of such excavators in open-pit mining proves their exceptional efficiency. However, at the same time there is no clear understanding of the conditions under which a hydraulic excavator will be most effective: a theory of the face block of hydraulic shovels has not yet been developed. The available scientific studies are limited to determining the rational height of the excavation layer for efficient operation. If to take the quality of preparation of rock mass and the scheme of its loading into dump trucks as external parameters, i.e. not depending on the features of excavator design, then the position of its working equipment relative to the rock block has a decisive influence on operation of the hydraulic drive and fuel consumption. This is due to the changing value of digging force at various points of the bucket teeth position in the range of their possible positions at constant power of the hydraulic drive. Thus, application of optimal position of hydraulic excavator working equipment elements (bucket, arm, and boom) relative to the rotary platform and the rock massive during the digging cycle allows both to reduce fuel consumption and to increase the digging force. The application of the developed methodology is promising in terms of improving the energy efficiency of both individual excavation and loading units and the enterprise as a whole.

Currently, large machine building companies produce hydraulic excavators serially with a wide range of operating parameters (bucket capacity, digging radius, digging depth and height). Hydraulic excavators have found wide application in quarries all over the world (USA, France, England, Japan, Australia, Russian Federation etc.). A sufficiently wide range of backhoe capabilities for the formation of various forms of surface workings and bench slopes allows them to work without leaving various prisms of coal losses in the coal seam's bottom, at the optimum height of the excavated layer. The most efficient way is to work off the bench by hydraulic backhoe by downward digging and bottom loading. The depth of digging (the height of the face) is approximately equal to the height of the body of a dump truck. The minimum value of the excavation cycle is achieved when the dump truck is positioned at an angle of 35-60° to the axis of the excavator. To reduce the time for installing a dump truck for loading, an end-to-end truck approach scheme is recommended, but the duration of the excavation cycle is increased as a result of increasing the angle of the excavator during loading. The research shows that: (1) at the excavated layer's height of 5.0 m, additional coal losses due to nonscooping is not formed only for seam's angle of 50 or more, except when using hydraulic backhoes with large operating parameters; (2) for excavated layer's height of 4.0 m, the minimal coal losses will be achieved for dip angle of at least 40 degrees, and for long-boom excavatorsnot less than 30°; (3) the excavated layer's height of 3.0 m makes it possible to virtually eliminate coal losses, except for excavators with a short boom.
