Abstract:While plastics have revolutionized our world, plastic waste has serious environmental and economic impacts. Polyhydroxyalkanoic acid (PHA) is a bacterial carbon and energy reserve shown to be both biodegradable and biocompatible and could potentially replace conventional plastics.
