“…Only the spatial details are incorporated into the LR image using the related reconstruction method. Merging zero-mean wavelet coefficients also avoids the bias in the radiometry of the original image, which occurs when using substitution techniques [12]. Multiresolution methods are suitable for dealing with band-to-band fusion since they extract from the image only the spatial details that exist at different scales.…”

“…To achieve more efficient results, the medical image fusion is shifted towards the transform domain through the accomplishment of MST, including the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) [3,7,37], framelet transform [16], contourlet transform [17], and non-sub sampled contourlet transform (NSCT) [1,4,6]. By focusing on the properties of wavelet filters, some extended wavelet based image fusion approaches are proposed based on Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) [18] and Wavelet Frame Transform (WFT) [19]. Wavelet transform suffers from lack of shift invariance & poor directionality and Stationary Wavelet Transform and Wavelet Packet Transform overcome these disadvantages.…”

“…All the above techniques employed in our previous studies [19][20][21]. Therefore, the best method for each group selected in this study as the fallowing: (HFA), (HFM) [20], (RVS) [21] and the IHS method by [22].…”
