ÖzMakale Bilgisi Bu araştırmada Bilim ve Sanat Merkezleri'nde yürütülen proje çalışmalarına ilişkin öğrenci görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi desenlerinden fenomenoloji deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde yer alan bir Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi'nde öğrenim gören, ulusal ve uluslararası proje çalışmalarına katılmış ve çeşitli başarılar elde etmiş beş özel yetenekli öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formunun hazırlanmasında uzman görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Veri analizinde içerik analizi yürütülmüş olup elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda kodlar, kategoriler ve temalar oluşturulmuştur. Katılımcılar, Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi'nde yürütülen proje çalışmalarının özgün olduğunu ve problem çözme becerilerini geliştirme, işbirliğini ve özgüveni arttırma gibi birçok faydası olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Bununla birlikte katılımcılar proje çalışmalarında; konu belirleme, süreç, rapor yazma, jüri üyeleri, projelerin sunumu ve malzemeye ulaşma açısından birçok problemlerle karşılaştıklarını da belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcıların belirtikleri problemlere yönelik çözüm önerileri; bilimselliğe dikkat edilerek alan yazının detaylı taranması, farklı alanlarda çalışmalar yürüten kişilerden jüri üyelerinin seçilmesi, üniversitelerin ve diğer kurumların proje çalışmalarına destek vermesi yönündedir. Bu değerlendirmeler ışığında, proje çalışmalarının yoğun olarak yürütüldüğü Bilim ve Sanat Merkezleri'nde öğrenim gören öğrencilere proje çalışmalarına yönelik belli dönemlerde eğitimlerin verilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Ayrıca, üniversitelerin proje çalışmaları yapan Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi öğrencilerine malzeme temini ve bilgi paylaşımı yönünden gerekli desteği vermesi önerilmektedir.

Marc Prensky has developed an approach named "Education to Better Their World" that aims at bringing children to a better place both in the world they live in and themselves. With this approach, it is aimed that the young generation in the primary and the secondary education levels will be able to realize real world problems and provide solutions to the them with the help of the skills they have and the instructors who guide them. In this study, it is aimed to determine the applicability of the EBTW approach in Science and Art Centers (BILSEM) in Turkey where superior and talented students are taught. Within the scope of the research, a total of 13 participants, including teachers working at Science and Art Centers were interviewed in 2017-2018 and a total of 6 lessons including STEM, social sciences and art courses, were observed, social sciences and arts branches. This research is a qualitative study and it is designed as a case study. In the analysis of collected data, content analysis technique which is frequently used in qualitative research is used. According to the findings obtained in the research, it was found that Science and Art Centers were institutions contributing to the students' personal development and thinking skills with project-based learning approach which has a flexible curriculum and understanding contributing to project knowledge and different thinking. The findings of the EBTW approach as effective thinking, effective action and effective relations under the headings of problem solving, creative thinking, focusing, development, dexterity and project management have been found to be actualized in all observations. In addition, Skills such as Stress Control, Financial Thinking, Policy, Compassion, Citizenship and Bargaining have not taken place in the observed courses. Some recommendations were made related to the findings.

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of biology project work on the scientific attitudes of gifted and talented students. This study was composed of pre-test and post-test experimental research design without control group. Quantitative and qualitative research methods have been used for collecting data in the study. It was conducted with 46 gifted and talented students who were registered at two different centre of BİLSEM (Science and Art Centre) in the Marmara Region, and who carried out biology project work during the autumn semester of 2012-2013 academic year. Data was collected using pre-test and posttest research model and Scientific Attitude Scale. Semi-structured Interview Form was used after the project. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and descriptive analysis statistical methods were used to analyse the quantitative data of the study with the help of SPSS 20 software program. Qualitative data was analysed using content analysis method. The results of our study revealed that both of the pre-test and post-test scores of scientific attitudes of the students were high. It is also understood that biology project work did not show any statistically significant effect on the scientific attitudes of the students. In addition, it has been determined that the students experience several problems at BİSEM, such as inadequate study space for the biology projects, insufficient supply and use of materials and equipment, limited project completion period, the difficulty in finding the original and unique project topics..
