Utilization of a scientifically operated charge-coupled device detector for high-performance thin-layer chromatographic analysis of tetracyclines

Abstract: A high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) method using a scientifically operated charge-coupled device detector is described for the assay of tetracycline pharmaceutical products. Quantitative information can be obtained for all samples on a TLC plate within a few seconds. The separation efficiency and detection limits were determined on both normal phase and reverse phase TLC plates. Fluorescence detection mode offers higher sensitivity than fluorescence quenching mode. The dynamic range, sensitivi… Show more

“…These values are in the same range with the HPLC methods available for Doxycycline [24,25]. TLC Methods developed before for the drug are designed to serve qualitative purposes, hence it is not possible to compare and contrast these methods with the one developed in this method [16,17]. Linearity, range and calibration curves.…”

“…There are various methods for determination of doxycycline; including microbiology [14], thin layer chromatography [15], TLC with densitometry for a binary mixture of doxycycline with ambroxol hydrochloride [16], HPTLC with charge coupled detector device (CCD) [17], infrared spectroscopy [18] and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) [4].…”

Carvalho Alguns aspectos importantes a serem considerados nesta técnica [94] :…”
