Utilization of Incense Stick Ash in Hydrometallurgy Methods for Extracting Oxides of Fe, Al, Si, and Ca

Abstract: With rapid industrialization, there is an ever-increasing demand for iron oxides, calcium oxides, aluminum oxides, silica, and zeolites as raw materials for various industries, but reserves of such metal oxides are continuously diminishing. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore new alternatives for such value-added minerals. One such material is incense stick ash (ISA), which is among the most unexplored byproducts from residential and holy places. Currently, ISA is of no use and it is disposed of in m… Show more

“…The obtained result is in agreement with previous results obtained for MNPs. Yadav and Fulekar (2018) and Yadav et al 2020 also obtained peaks at 33 and 35 • , which was attributed to the hematite and magnetite phase of the IONPs [22,[25][26][27][28].…”

“…TiO 2 NPs are already well described in the various pieces of literature (Yadav et al, 2022a). When it comes to the synthesis of TiO 2 NPs by microorganisms, the synthesized TiO 2 NPs were expected to have some unique features in comparison with TiO 2 NPs synthesized by chemical or physical routes (Haider et al, 2019).…”

“…Moreover, such practices also minimize the cost of solid waste management [21]. There are several types of biosorbents [22][23][24] such as (1) teaindustry waste [25], (2) sugar industry waste (bagasse) [26], (3) peach and apricot stones, (4) antibiotic waste, (5) sludge, (6) waste green sands, (7) fly ash [6,27,28], and incense sticks ash [4,[29][30][31].…”
