Abstrak: Kelurahan Pitak merupakan satu dari 20 kelurahan di Kecamatan Langke Rembong, Kabupaten Manggarai. Masyarakat di kelurahan ini, diketahui banyak memelihara ternak lokal. Permasalahan saat ini di Kelurahan Pitak adalah peternak kesulitan memperoleh pakan ternak, selain karena harga pakan komersil lebih mahal, juga karena sedikitnya wilayah yang dapat dijadikan lahan pakan ternak. Tim PkM Prodi Peternakan melaksanakan pengabdian kepada peternak dan calon peternakan yang ada di Kelurahan Pitak melalui tiga rangkaian kegiatan, yaitu penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan evaluasi pembuatan fermentasi Limbah Organik Pasar Inpres Ruteng . Rangkaian kegiatan ini bertujuan agar peternak dan calon peternak di Kelurahan Pitak dapat memanfaatkan limbah organik pasar, sebagai salah satu solusi kesulitan memperoleh pakan ternak . Pakan Ternak yang difermentasi diketahui memiliki kelebihan sebagai berikut, yaitu pakan memiliki masa simpan yang lebih panjang, nutrisi dalam pakan yang difermentasi dapat lebih optimal diserap oleh saluran pencernaan, serta tenaga dan waktu yang digunakan dalam mempersiapkan pakan lebih efisien. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi yang didapatkan dari pelaksanaan PkM ini, didapatkan peningkatan pemahaman pemahaman peternak dan calon peternak sebesar 50% tentang bahan pakan, bahan-bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai pakan, dan penggunaan limbah pasar sebagai pakan ternak. Selain itu, produk fermentasi Limbah Organik Pasar yang dihasilkan juga berkualiatas baik dan aman diberikan kepada ternak.Abstract: Pitak subdistrict was one of 20 subdistricts in Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency. The community in this subdistrict were known to rearing a lot of local livestock. The current problem in the Pitak subdistrict was that it was difficult for farmers to acquire feed, besides that the commercial feed was more expensive, also because there were very few areas that could be used as forage fields. The community service of Prodi Peternakan team carried out community service for farmers and prospective farmers in the Pitak, through three series of activities, that is counseling, training, and evaluating the making of organic waste fermentation at the Ruteng Traditional Market. This series of activities aimed to enable farmers and prospective farmers in the Pitak to utilize market organic waste, as a solution to the difficulty of obtaining feed. Fermented feed was known to have the following advantages, namely feed has a longer shelf life, nutrients in fermented feed can be more optimally absorbed by the digestive tract, and the energy and time used in preparing feed were more efficient. Based on the evaluation results obtained from the implementation of this community service, there was an increase in the understanding of farmers and prospective farmers by 50% relating to feed ingredients, materials that can be used as feed, and the use of market waste as feed. Besides that, the market organic waste fermented products produced were also in good quality and safe for livestock.
