Utilization of mobile technology for mobile robot controller

Abstract: Mobile communication technology is one of the most popular and important communications at this moment. The field of robotics includes various sectors such as factory sector, manufacturing and security. This paper presents the utilization of different mobile technology for mobile robot controller such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Wireless LAN and 3G. Comparison of the frequency, data rate and range for each mobile technology used in this application are discussed. For future work, we propose the development of mobil… Show more

“…Diluar sana banyak robot pelayan yang sudah diciptakan oleh para peneliti. Ada robot pelayan dengan dikendalikan menggunakan wireless atau dikendalikan jarak jauh, tetapi kurang efisien karena masih perlu manusia untuk mengendalikannya alias tidak berjalan secara otomatis [9]. Sedangkan robot berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat berjalan secara sendiri alias otomatis tanpa memerlukan manusia untuk mengendalikannya.…”

“…Although wired communications can provide higher communication quality, wired communications for a teleoperated mobile robot are not desired due to the various physical limitations caused by cables [6][7][8]. Generally, wireless communications, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular network technology are applied to mobile robots due to the valuable benefits they offer [6,7,9,10]. Each communication method has unique advantages; however, the best communication method for each mobile robot is determined based on the application of the robot and its specific requirements.…”

“…Vehicular networks are widely used for autonomous navigation, remotely operated vehicle, and swarm robot [1]. It utilizes cellular and wireless local area networks and demands high-speed, reliable communication without increasing channel bandwidth and power required for transmission [2][3][4]. To meet such requirement, MU-MIMO communication technology has been introduced in such applications [5].…”
