Abstract:We investigated the degradation of plastics upon UVC irradiation in aqueous solution and the formation of microplastic (MP) particles. We irradiated polypropylene (PP) and recycled and virgin polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with a UV lamp emitting at 254 nm.
