“…The use of codoped ZnO as a photodetector was also studied in depth by GuruSampath et al 84 The heterostructured ZnO/Ga–Ag codoped ZnO nanorod material was synthesized by the two-step process, sol–gel-assisted hydrothermal approach. A slight lower angle shift was observed in the XRD pattern of the codoped material, which makes it confusing to interpret the effect based on the ionic radii because Ga( iii ) has a smaller ionic radius (0.62 Å) than Zn( ii ) (0.74 Å) and Ag( i ) has a greater radius (1.02 Å) than zinc ion.…”

“…Hence, the 2p 3/2 peak experienced larger displacement as compared to the 2p 1/2 peak, resulting in higher energy of shifting (from approximate 22.9 in FZO to approximate 23.13 in FAZO) which could be attributed to the greater spin-orbital interaction in the FAZO sample which is around the characteristic value of ZnO (Krajian et al , 2021). Also, Figure 4(b) shows that the F 1 s peak shifted from 684.2 in FZO to 684.7 eV in FAZO with the approximate 0.5 eV BE shifting, indicating the binding of F with the Zn and F with the Ag (GuruSampath Kumar et al , 2020; Wang et al , 2018). Figure 4(c) shows that the Ag 3d 5/2 and Ag 3d 3/2 peaks were located at 367.8 and 373.7 eV, respectively, in the FAZO sample (GuruSampath Kumar et al , 2020).…”

“…The morphologies of thin films are affected by adding Ag + , which may be replaced with Zn 2+ . Further increase in impurities caused the agglomeration of Ag atoms at the grain boundary of ZnO crystal, suggesting the creation of Ag clusters that appeared as separate Ag atoms, as can be seen in Figure 3c,d [46]. Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy was used to evaluate the chemical compositions of pristine ZnO and Ag-doped nanorods.…”
