Uwb Antenna With Dual Band Rejection for Wlan/Wimax Bands Using CSRRS

Abstract: Abstract-A compact microstrip-fed ultra-wideband (UWB) planar monopole antenna with dual band rejected characteristic is presented in this paper. By etching two identical square complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) in the radiation patch, dual band rejections in the WiMAX and WLAN bands are achieved. The proposed antenna, with the size of 30×34 mm 2 , has been constructed and tested. And the measured results show that the antenna can operate over the frequency band between 3 and 11 GHz for VSWR < 2 with… Show more

“…Very good agreement has been obtained between them. A 5.6 GHz and 5.4 GHz notch frequencies in the filter operating frequencies are obtained using ESRR without and with varactor loading, which covers WLAN band [21]. Figure 1 shows a schematic view of a CSRR formed with metallic strips of width, c, and radii r a and r ext forming the inner and outer rings, respectively with inter ring spacing, d. The splits on the inner and outer rings have gap dimensions g 1 and g 2 , respectively, lying diametrically opposite on the same axis.…”

“…So it is necessary to design antennas with multiband filtering characteristics to avoid interferences. Therefore, several attempts have been made to design printed‐circuit UWB antennas, which are capable of attenuating single , dual band , and triple band .…”

“…To overcome this problem, UWB having band rejection characteristic is desirable. UWB antennas with band rejection characteristic have been proposed [4–18], mostly with one notch band [5, 6] for WLAN. For printed monopole antennas, the most familiar methods to achieve band‐notched function are etching U‐shaped slots [5, 12] on the metallic patch.…”
