Abstract:Increases in exercise intensity are known to reset, in an upward and rightward direction, the arterial baroreflex (ABR) control of heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP). ABR function during recovery from exercise has not been extensively studied and therefore is unreported in the literature. We hypothesized that carotid baroreflex (CBR) function curves would recover with a trend opposite to the original intensity related resetting following exercise. To test this hypothesis, healthy young subjects p… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
