“…The survey confirmed the effectiveness of ‘no‐touch’ vaginoscopy in the treatment of adolescent AUB, which has the advantage of both treating disease and protecting the integrity of the patient's hymen. The use of the vaginoscopy was successful and significantly reduces the pain experienced by patients during the procedure compared to the traditional technique (SMD −0.44, 95% CI from −0.65 to −0.22, I(2) = 58%) . In addition, compared to the traditional technique, ‘no‐touch’ hysteroscopy showed significantly shorter time required for hysteroscopy and biopsy (5.9 vs 7.8 min; difference 1.9, 95% CI 0.7–3.1) …”

“…In these studies, the vaginoscopy was done using a rigid 2.5e3.7 mm hysteroscope with fluid distention followed by the standard hysteroscopy procedure. 9 Another systemic review of 19 case reports found that using a hysteroscope for vaginoscopy was useful for the evaluation of adolescent gynecological disorders in patients with intact hymen or limited anatomy. 10 A combined vaginoscopy-cystoscopy technique has been described to evaluate vesico-vaginal fistulae whereby the vaginoscopy was done using a 10 mm laparoscope with vaginal speculum.…”

“…Vaginoscopy has been reported in the evaluation and management of gynecological disorders 9,10 and vesico-vaginal fistulae. 11 A 2010 meta-analysis comparing methods of outpatient hysteroscopy reported that concurrent vaginoscopy compared to traditional vaginal speculum significantly reduced pain during the procedure.…”
