A simple, precise, accurate, and economical spectrophotometric method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of levocetirizine dihydrochloride (LCT) and phenylephrine hydrochloride (PHE) by employing first-order derivative spectrophotometric method. The first-order derivative absorption at 240 nm (zero crossing point of PHE) was used for quantification of LCT and 283.2 nm (zero crossing point of LCT) for quantification of PHE. The linearity was established over the concentration range of 4-24 g/mL and 8-48 g/mL for LCT and PHE with correlation coefficients ( 2 ) 0.9964 and 0.9972, respectively. The mean % recoveries were found to be in the range of 99.14%-100.43% for LCT and 98.73%-100.83% for PHE. The proposed method has been validated as per ICH guideline and successfully applied for the simultaneous estimation of LCT and PHE in combined tablet dosage form.

Summary.Comparison of classical densitometry, video-scanning, and capillary electrophoresis was performed for determination of angiotensin II receptor antagonist, valsartan, and calcium channels blocker, amlodipine, in a combined dosage form. Thin layer chromatography was performed on RP8 F254 TLC plates with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-phosphate buffer at pH 9.0 (5:5, v/v) and temperature 20 °C. Densitometry was done in the reflectance mode at 217 nm for valsartan and in the absorbance mode at 370 nm for amlodipine. Video-scanning was elaborated at 254 and 366 nm for valsartan and amlodipine, respectively. For chromatographic analysis, calibration plots were constructed in the range of 0.4-2.8 μg per spot for valsartan and 0.02-0.14 μg per spot for amlodipine. Capillary electrophoresis (CE) was performed using a 75 μm × 94 cm fused silica capillary (72 cm effective length), 0.01 mol L −1 borate buffer at pH 8.0, 20 kV voltage, 30 °C temperature, hydrodynamic injection (10 mbar, 6 s) and UV detection at 237 nm. Calibration plots were constructed in the range of 0.1-0.6 mg mL −1 for valsartan and 0.005-0.03 mg mL −1 for amlodipine. All methods were validated in respect to robustness, specificity, stability, linearity, precision, and accuracy. Generally, statistical comparison between the methods did not show significant differences so all procedures are suitable for pharmaceutical analysis.

Diclofenac is a medication that presents in its structure two benzene rings joined by an amine group presenting: The first ring two chlorine atoms, both in the ortho position with respect to the amino group and the second ring is bound to ethanoic acid, also in ortho position with respect to this amino group, thus showing the carboxylate group (COO-).We have studied the Raman spectrum of solid Diclofenac (DCF), their spectra in solution in methanol at different concentrations and Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) with additives that increase the profile of spectra. The interaction of this molecule with Ag (that is in the colloid used in SERS), is significant on the two rings, the COO-and amine group and Cl atom and C 7 H 2 group, everyone in the structure of DCF.
