“…They are considered “green solvents” since their liquid state is not due to the presence of a solvent but rather due to the combination of a cation and anion, which determine the ILs’ polar and hydrophobic properties. , Properties such as viscosity, , melting temperature below room temperature, and high surface activity are relevant for developing biomedical applications.
