“…In the first experiment, we manipulated the level and consistency of apparent male aggression (measured as average distance of approach towards an opponent) by placing a male in a clear Plexiglas cylinder located at a fixed distance from an animated same-sex conspecific opponent presented on a nearby computer screen.
